More things to see and do in and around Weymouth
Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour are blessed with some of the finest waters in Britain and indeed Northern Europe for watersports, including sailing, diving, wind surfing, kite surfing and sea angling. The area, along with the new purpose built on-shore National Sailing Academy on Portland, has been selected as the venue for the Olympic sailing events when London hosts the Games in 2012.
Diving, surfing and sailing tuition are available locally and if you need to buy a wetsuit or other equipment, there are plenty of shops nearby where you will be able to find what you need.
Rowing boats and pedaloes are also available for hire on Weymouth beach.

White Water Rides
Take a ride on the wild side with Weymouth's very own white water ride towards and around Portland's roughest waters, "the Race". Power across the treacherous water and crashing waves in a craft specially designed to cope with waters such as these.
Jurassic Coast Boat Trips
Enjoy the tranquillity and beauty around you as you travel from Weymouth towards Portland. You will pass the ruins of Sandsfoot Castle, and then on past Rufus Castle, huge sea caves, Portland Bill and Pulpit Rock. Cruise down the west side of Portland towards the world-famous Chesil Beach and back again.
Alternatively, view the spectacular beauty of downs, cliffs, beaches and caves as you pass the red cliffs of Bowleaze and Ringstead. Pass the famous Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Worbarrow Bay with all its beauty.
